How about making your own pizza dough? It is not difficult, it’s very similar to making bread.
Once you start making your own you will never go back.
This recipe makes 4 pizzas.
- Prep Time : 20 minutes
- Cook Time : 20-25 minutes
Ingredients
- lukewarm water – 400 ml – 14 fl oz
- strong flour – 600 g – 4 + 1/3 cup
- salt – 2 tsp
- olive oil – 2 tbsp
- yeast (for bread making) – 1 sachet
Instructions
In a large bowl dissolve the yeast with the water.
Add the flour, the olive oil, the salt and mix them up well.
Work the dough energetically with your hands until you get a smooth consistency.
Shape it into a ball, put it back into the bowl and cover it up with a cloth; leave it to rest in a warm place for a couple of hours or until it has doubled in size.
Put the dough on your worktop, put some olive oil on both your hands and work energetically the dough for about 10 min. The dough should be smooth and elastic. Add a little flour if it feels really sticky.
Now shape your pizza with your hands and lay it on your baking tray. Leave it to rest for at least another couple of hours. The longer the better.
Add your topping. Spread the tomato sauce, the chopped mozzarella and sprinkle some oregano on top. You can use fresh basil instead if you prefer and any more topping you like.
Cook in a preheated oven at 200 C or 400 F for about 20-25 minutes.

Very easy and simply delicious:-)
